A Sampling of Past Projects

Lionshead Welcome Center

Working for the Town of Vail, Alpine Engineering prepared civil construction plans and specifications for the Lionshead Welcome Center adjacent to the parking structure.  Design included analyzing bus turning movements, demolition, grading, drainage, snowmelt and utility plans.  Special consideration was also given to the existing parking garage infrastructure including layout, pedestrian flow and drainage.

Coordination with the project team for architectural, structural, mechanical and landscaping design was essential for this complex project.

Riverfront Subdivision and Resort

Design and preparation of construction plans and construction administration for the infrastructure for Riverfront Subdivision.  The Riverfront project consists of Hotel and Spa facilities, pedestrian plaza, timeshare and whole ownership condominiums and an enhanced river front park, connected to the Town Center across a railroad corridor via pedestrian and auto crossings and to Beaver Creek Ski Resort via a high speed gondola.  The Westin Riverfront Resort was awarded  LEED Silver designation by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Alpine Engineering, Inc. provided the Civil Engineering plans and construction review, and UPRR permits of two at grade railroad crossings, in conjunction with the Riverfront project. These crossings effectively connected the Town of Avon north of the railroad to the Riverfront project and access from the Town’s transportation center to the gondola serving Beaver Creek Ski Area.  Emphasis was placed on providing a pedestrian friendly crossing.

Eco Trails - Avon to Eagle Vail

Alpine Engineering performed the civil engineering design for approximately 6375 LF of Regional ECO Trail for Eagle County Trails.  Coordinated the design of approximately 3200 LF of mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls in areas where the path alignment was constrained between US Highway 6 and the Eagle River.

Phase II added an additional 5625 LF to the Regional Trail. Alpine Engineering designed and prepared construction plans, permitting coordination with CDOT and provided construction administration services. This project was funded with a GOCO Grant and received the 2014 Starburst Award for excellence in use of lottery funds.

Eagle River Park

Alpine Engineering was chosen to perform the civil engineering design for the proposed Eagle River Park in Eagle, CO. The intention of the Eagle River Park is to upgrade the area near the fairgrounds, presently an underutilized dirt lot, to a multi-use community locale. Recreation opportunities include a state of the art whitewater park, a new rec path, and boulder climbing features. Various venues, like the activity lawn, "The Corral," and the boulder beach terrace, will provide area for entertainment, relaxation, and congregation. Construction of the whitewater park began winter of 2017 and the park is now open to the public with the official ribbon cutting on May 24, 2019.

Alpine Engineering designed and prepared construction plans, coordinating with the architects and whitewater park designers. In addition, Alpine Engineering helped present the concept plan to stakeholders, town officials, and the public. Alpine Engineering also provided construction administration services once the project was underway.
