35 years and counting

As 2022 comes to a close, it prompts us to not only look back at this year, but the last 3 years, as it seems to blur together. The pandemic led to some uncertain few years for all. But as we come out the other end, we take some time to reflect on these several years and express our gratitude for the health and wellness of our staff, family, and friends. Fortunately business boomed for local developers, which meant it kept us working hard on design and construction administration throughout the last several years.

The Residence Inn by the Marriott in West Vail received approvals in 2020 and started construction summer of 2021, with plans of completion in fall of 2023. We joined the team working on the remodel of the Evergreen Lodge in Vail and are in the design stage currently seeking approvals from the Town of Vail. The Residences at Main Vail broke ground in 2022 with construction continuing throughout this winter. It will provide much needed, affordable housing to the local workforce.

We were busy working with the Beaver Creek, Arrowhead, and Red Sky Ranch Metropolitan Districts for their annual roadway improvements. As their project engineers, we provide design and budgeting services to the local entities, as well as construction administration each summer.

While we are still based out of Eagle County, we found ourselves working on several housing projects in Silverthorne and Dillon with TAB Architects. We had various projects in Breckenridge, Buena Vista, and Winter Park, as well.

The condo/housing project in Avon adjacent to the Ascent resumed design in 2021 under new ownership and did not waste any time beginning construction in 2022. Visit Frontgate Avon https://frontgateavon.com/ for more information and construction updates. We also provided civil design services for McGrady Acres, a residential development consisting of 24 4-bedroom townhomes off Post Boulevard.

In Gypsum, we worked with local developers on several storage units located south of the airport. We provided preliminary site planning for proposed housing in Buckhorn Valley. Then worked with owners, consultants, and the Town of Gypsum to produce access and infrastructure plans for the future housing.

Eagle has seen development occur on every corner of town and on what seems to be the last few buildable parcels left. The Haymeadow development broke ground on the first of many residential parcels located within the large property. Tract RMF1 will contain 76 1- and 2-bedroom units in 7 multi-family buildings. Underground utilities were installed throughout the end of 2022 and vertical construction is slated for spring of 2023 with move-in summer of 2024. The Reserve at Hockett Gulch received approvals from the Town of Eagle after many months of review and negotiations and began construction in the fall of this year. We worked with the Town of Eagle and many other consultants including Zehren and Associates and McDowell Engineering, Inc. on preliminary design and cost projections for the revitalization of the Grand Avenue Corridor.

We look forward to our 35th year providing high quality civil engineering services in the Colorado High Country.
