Today saw the official "groundbreaking" ceremony at the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District's new employee housing development, Stillwater, just west of Edwards town center. Work has been underway for weeks now at the proposed site, so the gathering of ERWSD board of directors and staff today was, as some are calling it, more of a "ground-turning" celebration. No matter the timing, the event celebrates a project which will add an additional 21 townhomes to a valley stricken with housing issues. With the development in the district's service area, employee response time to water and wastewater emergencies will be reduced and livelihoods will improve. Attendees were treated with light snacks and a tour of the site. The site is located off of Highway 6, east of Hillcrest Drive and final completion is set for spring of 2019.
